Home & Business Physical Security Inspections Last updated 2/18/2008

Free home and business security inspections are offered by the St. Bernard Police Department and is one of the ways to reduce burglaries, robberies, and larceny of property. This service is performed by a police officer and you may contact the officers by calling 242-2727 to schedule an appointment. The officers examines doors, door frames, door locks, windows, window locks, lighting, landscaping, fencing, and alarm systems for weaknesses in security. The officer suggests ways to prevent and deter crime from your residence and your neighborhoods. A written copy of the survey may be given to the resident. Insurance companies may provide incentives for home and business security inspections. The major difficulty is the failure of residents to implement any or all of the recommendations.

Officers are continuously schooled in new techniques and procedures. There are several ways that you and the police department can reduce and prevent crimes from occurring. This is just another tool for citizens to use to combat crime.
